现任商务部研究院外资部主任。商务部贸易与投资专家组成员、中华老字号专家委员会成员，中国体制改革研究会公共政策研究中心高级研究员，CCTV财经频道特约评论员。山东省、广东省、北京市、重庆市、广州市外经贸事务咨询顾问。1998年获国家突出贡献专家称号，享受国务院颁发的政府特殊津贴。

作为政府部门政策研究人员，参与了国家有关对外开放和吸收外资等领域某些重要法律、文件的起草和讨论工作，并多次参与或负责商务部（外经贸部）等政府部门和学术机构的课题研究、发展规划及座谈讨论。 主要研究领域为中国对外开放和外商投资/对外贸易政策。

Ma Yu, currently he is director of foreign investment department of research institute under Ministry of Commerce. memeber of trade and investment expert group under Ministry of Commerce, memeber of China Time-honored Brand Committee, Senior Researcher of Public Policy Research Center of China Society of Economic Reform, Commentator for CCTV Financial Channel. foreign trade affairs consultant of Shandong, Guangdong, Beijing, Chongqing, Guangzhou. Mr. Ma was awarded as National Outstanding Contribution Expert, enjoying special government allowance granted by the State Council. As a government department policy researchers, he participates in drafting and discussing important laws and documents regarding open strategy and foreign capital in-flow and often participates in or responsible for research, development planning and panel discussion of some government deparments and academic institutions such as the Ministry of Commerce (MOFTEC). His main research areas are China's opening up and foreign investment / foreign trade policy.
