1997年，何佩德先生参加了荷兰政府在波里维亚的双边援助项目 ，并于2000年加入联合国开发计划署洪都拉斯代表处。2003年他成为联合国开发计划署驻坦赞尼亚代表处副代表。之后，他参与了联合国开发计划署非洲局在非洲区域进行的精简机构和提高执行效率的工作，前后一年半的时间里他访问了非洲18个国家 。
Mr. Patrick Haverman (Netherlands) started his assignment as UNDP Deputy Country Director in China on 17/09/2012.
Patrick graduated from in 1993 the Rotterdam School of Management in Business Administration, after which he worked for four years as financial controller and marketing manager for an international Architect and Engineering company.
In 1997, he started his international career working for the Dutch government in a bi-lateral development project in Bolivia, after which he joined the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in 2000, in the UNDP Honduras.
he became the Deputy Resident Representative Strategic Operations in Tanzania in 2003, followed by an initiative of the Regional Bureau for Africa to streamline the Country Offices and ramp up efficiency and delivery in the region; in 1,5 year he undertook missions to 18 African countries (DRC, CAR, Cameroon, Mali, Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, Mozambique, Botswana, Burundi, Zambia, Rwanda, Niger, Burkina Faso, Benin, Chad, Cote D’Ivoire and Mauritius).
In 2006 he became the project advisor for the UNDP for the Millennium Villages project, working with the Earth Institute at Columbia University, for an implementation in 13 countries in Africa. Before joining UNDP China he functioned as one of the country advisors in HQ overseeing a portfolio of countries in Africa.Patrick has travelled to 135 countries. He is married and tries to keep up learning Mandarin at the speed of his two children.
