Real-life Mr Happy can t feel sadness
EVER-smiling Malcolm Myatt has been left unable to feel sadness after suffering a stroke.
Doctors told him the frontal lobe of his brain that controls emotions was hit.
But plucky Malcolm, 68, said: “It s amazing what happened. Now I am never depressed. I feel happy all the time and am never down. The stroke nearly killed me but now it has turned out to my advantage.
“I barely even notice that I don t feel sadness. There is a part of the brain that remembers jokes and now I love telling them. I m always cracking them because I feel happy and I want other people to feel good too.”
Ex-trucker Malcolm, of Cannock, Staffs, had the massive stroke in January 2004. He was left with little feeling in his left side and suffers short-term memory loss.
Wife Kath, 67, an IT tutor, said: “When he laughs everyone does. He livens up any room. He s always happy.”
