香港大学专业进修学院(HKU SPACE)副院长,香港大学SPACE中国商业学院(ICB)总监。

刘宁荣教授现任职香港大学,为香港大学专业进修学院(HKU SPACE)副院长(中国发展);香港大学SPACE中国商业学院(ICB)总监。刘教授专注战略发展、品牌定位和营销传播;近年来侧重教育国际化和市场化,以及教育营销和教育创新的研究。刘教授还长期观察全球宏观政经趋势,并特别关注全球化对中国的影响,以及中国未来的发展定位。

刘教授于2010年,主导创办了香港大学SPACE中国商业学院(ICB)。他确立专业(Professional)、前瞻(Prospective)、实用(Practical)、实效(Problem-solving)的4P定位,旨在建立一所创新型的专业商管学院,ICB目前已提供16个研究生层次的以专业为导向的课程,以致力于提高中国管理人员的专业深度和专业能力。

刘教授在媒体和传播领域有广泛的经验,曾出任香港大学新闻及传媒研究中心助理总监;加入港大之前任职美国的公关和传媒咨询顾问公司,在纽约与华盛顿两地从事企业形象与品牌咨询。他还供职于多家中英文媒体,并担任白宫记者,两次全程报导美国总统大选,采访了克林顿、布什、戈尔巴乔夫等全球知名领袖,其多部深度报导的专著在中国内地和香港出版。目前他还担任凤凰卫视特约评论员、和亚洲周刊特约作者。

刘教授是美国印第安纳大学硕士,英国布里斯托大学博士。他是德国柏林国际新闻研究院、美国亚洲基金会、和美国加州大学伯克利分校的访问学人。他曾于1996年在美国被评选为五百位最有影响力的亚裔美国人。

Prof. Liu currently serves as Associate Director of University of Hong Kong’s School of Professional and Education (HKU SPACE), and he is also Head of Institute for China Business (ICB) at HKU SPACE. He has strong interests in strategic development, branding, and market communications. In recent years, he has focused his researches on higher education, with special interests in the areas of marketization and internationalization, as well as educational marketing and innovation. Besides, he has been focusing on global macro political economy, specifically on the impact of globalization on China and the positioning of China’s future development.

As the leading founder of HKU SPACE’s Institute for China Business, Prof. Liu established and positioned a 4P model for ICB, including Professional, Prospective, Practical and Problem-solving. ICB is now providing 16 diversified professional-oriented courses at the graduate level in an effort to enhance the knowledge and expertise of the Chinese professionals.

Prof. Liu has a broad background and experience in the field of media and mass communications and he was Assistant Director of Journalism and Media Studies Centre at the University of Hong Kong (HKU). Prior to joining HKU, he was working at an American public relations and media communications consultancy and providing a wide variety of consulting services for corporate image and branding in New York and Washington. Besides, he worked in several Chinese and English media, and has published numerous works both in Mainland China and Hong Kong. In 1996, he was elected as the top 500 of the most influential Asian American in U.S.

Prof. Liu received his master degree from Indiana University in U.S. and doctorate degree from University of Bristol in U.K.
